La sponda trentina è quella più settentrionale del lago, che bagna la provincia di Trento ed è abbracciata dal panorama alpino. Si tratta di un gioiello di piccoli borghi, angoli naturalistici e spiagge naturali che rendono questa zona un vero paradiso. Le principali località di questa zona sono Riva del Garda e Nago-Torbole. 

Riva del Garda

We recommend starting your visit from Piazza III Novembre, surrounded by magnificent Veneto-Lombard buildings and overlooking a small harbour; at the corner of the square stands the 34-metre-high Apponale Tower, from the top of which you can admire an impressive panorama.

The Museo Alto Garda (MAG), located in the Rocca Medievale, is another excellent option for a visit: it includes various sections such as the Picture Gallery, an archaeological section, the A. Segantini and a section on the history of the Lower Sarca Valley from prehistory to World War II.

Nago-Torbole

Torbole sul Garda is one of the most visited centres on the lake, thanks to its breathtaking views and its being a reference point for athletes and sports enthusiasts from all over the world.

Its windy climate is particularly favourable for water sports such as canoeing, sailing and windsurfing: you can find numerous experienced private instructors and its Surfing and Sailing clubs are very renowned, its waters host world and European competitions every year. Torbole is also a popular destination for trekking and mountain biking enthusiasts.

Also worth a visit is the characteristic Casa del Dazio di Torbole (Torbole Customs House), once the seat of the Austrian customs: during the years of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Torbole was a border town and in this small building the customs officers carried out checks on goods arriving from the port.

Not to be missed is the view from Belvedere, a panoramic terrace from which to admire the town.
